Committees: For the TSMA Standing Committees to be successful, member input is crucial. TSMA members are encouraged to participate on one or more of the committees listed below. The time commitment is kept to a minimum; the committees typically meet just one to four times per year. TSMA MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE The Membership Committee helps determine strategies to retain current members and recruit new members to the association. The committee establishes membership growth/renewal goals for the year, and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on various issues, such as the membership dues structure, increasing member participation at meetings, etc. CHAIR: Todd Peterson, TS&L Properties TSMA YOUTH INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE The Youth Involvement Committee is interested in increasing awareness - particularly among young people - of the many manufacturing career opportunities in the region. The committee became a leader in promoting the Dream !t Do !t promotional campaign in 2008. The TSMA Scholarship Program provides funding to students affiliated with a TSMA member company. The Youth Involvement Committee is active in promoting Student Tours of Manufacturing Facilities. Other areas of interest include: Battlebots IQ, Manufacturing Educators Coalition, classroom visits, and more. CHAIR: Mike Westergard, StoneL Corporation TSMA PROGRAM COMMITTEE The Program Committee is responsible to determine the format of the TSMA membership meetings. The meetings typically feature a pre-meeting workshop, a guest speaker, and/or a plant tour. The committee will pole the membership from time to time, to gather input on preferred topics, tour sites, etc. CHAIR: Elroy Vesta, EJ Enterprises TSMA SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE The Special Events Committee generally oversees one or two events each year. One such event, the TSMA Golf Social, is in its 14th year. Examples of past special events include the Tabletop Trade Show in Fargo and bus tours to such locations as Bobcat in Gwinner, ND, and Carlos Creek Winery near Carlos, MN.
